Free workshop: Insurance and Benefits for the Small-Business Owner

Sylvia Group Employee Benefits Team.jpgAnyone who owns and/or operates a small business could use a little help, a little guidance — especially when it comes to the sometimes baffling challenge of managing employee benefits.

The team at Sylvia Group includes benefits professionals who specialize in advising small businesses, and this week they're joining forces two other respected organizations to conduct a free workshop: Insurance and Benefits for the Small Business Owner.

Wednesday afternoon at the Quest Center in downtown New Bedford, Sylvia Group Vice Presidents Julia Jennings and Rosemarie Lopes will present along with representatives of the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center (MSBDC) Network's Southeast Regional Office in an event hosted by the New Bedford Economic Development Council (NBEDC).

During their presentation, Julie and Rose will address questions all small-business owners should be able to answer, including:

  • What would happen to the business if your or a key employee were to die or become disabled?
  • How will you retain your best workers and attract new employees?
  • Are you prepared to weather unforeseen financial hardships?

The workshop will run from 2:30-5 p.m. in the Quest Center's NBEDC Conference Room, located on the first floor at 1213 Purchase St.

While the workshop is free, attendees are required to register. Running a business leaves little time to spare, but we're sure you'll consider this invaluable workshop time well spent. Register today!
