Check, check, check and check. This is the opportunity available to you as a producer in the Employee Benefits division of Sylvia Group, the leading agency for insurance, benefits and financial services on Massachusetts' SouthCoast.

We’re looking for a self-motivated benefits professional who thrives on working with clients to provide solutions, and we’re offering a head start on advancing your career. Working both independently and with strong support from an experienced, knowledgeable team, our new benefits producer will manage a substantial existing book of business while attracting new clients.

As a benefits producer, your primary focus will be on driving new revenue by identifying, qualifying, developing and closing new opportunities with clients from small to midsize companies. You’ll cultivate relationships with sources of new business and meet with prospects to identify their needs, explain our insurance products and implement a sales strategy. You’ll also expand sales in existing accounts by introducing new products and services.

Qualified candidates must have proven sales and people skills, possess a genuine desire to help others and demonstrate a commitment to education on the evolving economic and legal issues that affect the industry. Experience analyzing group health, dental, life and disability quotes and presenting benefit-plan options is preferred but not essential. Strong written and verbal communications skills are required, as is the ability to make informative and persuasive presentations. To be a successful employee benefits producer, you must be flexible yet decisive and place a high value on customer service. A bachelor’s degree is required.

Sylvia Group Employee Benefits producers are required to write new business that meets or exceeds targets for premium volume, commission and number of accounts while adhering to agency service standards and timelines. Producers plan, lead and control their personal production levels and servicing in a manner consistent with agency goals for growth, mix of business and profitability.

Her designs for health, dental, disability, life, long-term care and travel insurance coverage help clients protect their investments and provide security for the people they care about most.

Before joining the insurance industry, Rose served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps, earning multiple commendations and medals. In addition to being a member of the SouthCoast Insurance Agents Association Board of Directors, she continues to serve her community as President of Veterans Transition House Board of Directors and as a member of the United Way of Greater New Bedford's Citizens Review Team.
