Vice President-Financial Services and Benefits
Businesses scrambling to prepare for payroll deductions under the Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) Law now have a bit more time. Tuesday night, Gov. Charlie Baker and Democratic leaders in the Legislature announced they had agreed to move the deadline for taking the deductions from July 1 to October 1.The state House and Senate were expected to approve the change Wednesday afternoon.
Here's a story on the delay from the Boston Globe.
Meanwhile, another important deadline for compliance with the Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) law is fast approaching: The deadline for employers to provide covered individuals with written notification of the PFML law and benefits is June 30.
According to the state Department of Family and Medical Leave (DFML), "The notice, which may be provided electronically, must include the opportunity for an employee or self-employed individual to acknowledge receipt or decline to acknowledge receipt of the information."
