Sylvia Group Account Executive
Medicare Open Enrollment began this week, with the enrollment period continuing through December 7. This is the time for current Medicare members to review and change their coverage for 2020. To assist with the process, and to address changes to the program for 2020, Sylvia Group hosted a webinar on October 15, the first day of Open Enrollment.
Open Enrollment is complex for those already enrolled in Medicare, and it can be even more confusing if you're enrolling for the first time at age 65 or as you prepare to retire. So when we provide guidance and advice on Medicare, we try to make the topic as clear and straightforward as possible.
While there's more to Medicare than we could possibly cover in a 50-minute webinar, this recording of our October 15 presentation will give you a solid starting point for understanding and planning your Medicare health plan for 2020.
Among the topics covered:
- An overview of Medicare eligibility and coverage basics;
- Medicare Advantage and Part D prescription plans;
- When, where and how to enroll in Medicare;
- How COBRA affects Medicare coverage;
- The Medicare Plan Finder.

Chances are you'll still have questions about Medicare and how it pertains to your own circumstances, even after viewing the webinar. Since Medicare doesn't cover all the health care needs you'll experience in your retirement years, you may also be interested in Long-Term Care Insurance (LTCi). You can learn more about this valuable protection for your retirement savings during the next Sylvia Group Education Series event, a seminar on LTCi at our Dartmouth offices on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 5:30-7 p.m.
