Whether you celebrate Hannukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa or some combination thereof, we and the rest of the team at Sylvia Group wish you the happiest of holidays. But we know that best wishes alone aren't enough to make the holidays happy.

For us   largely because we're insurance professionals and at least in part because we're moms — holiday happiness is inseparable from holiday safety, so we'd like to share with you some seasonal safety tips from the National Safety Council (NSC) and our associates at Zywave and MyWave Connect, an insurance, benefits and risk management information platform.

The document from Zywave   a resource available to Sylvia Group business and benefits clients — is about popular but somewhat controversial items you may be considering for holiday gift-giving or receiving: drones.

As the Zywave document notes, "Drones are usually thought of as toys or hobbyist aircraft. However, they also constitute a substantial risk to your family, home and privacy. Whether or not you own a drone, it’s important that you’re aware of regulations and safety tips regarding their use."

Julie 1_18_18 (7)In Julie Vieira, Sylvia Group clients have a Commercial Claims Executive who combines years of insurance, claims and business experience with an empathetic, customer-focused approach to resolving each claim in timely and satisfactory fashion. A licensed Property and Casualty Adjuster, Julie joined Sylvia Group in January 2017. She previously worked in the Fall River, MA, office of HUB International and at the Warwick, R.I., branch of MetLife. While her specialties there included municipalities and construction, she became highly skilled in communicating with and educating clients involved in the claims process across a broad range of industries.
