As a Personal Lines Account Executive in our Insurance Division, you’ll generate business for our growing agency by recognizing and addressing new clients’ needs, working them and our service teams to design customized solutions. You’ll be able to exercise your drive to work independently while enjoying the support of an outstanding team and enhancing our reputation as one of the most trusted agencies in New England. Over time, you’ll also have the opportunity to bring in new Commercial Lines accounts with small businesses.
Under the direction of the Director of Business Development, you’ll bring in new business from outside the agency and work with Sylvia Group Commercial Lines clients to generate business with their employees. You’ll work with new and existing clients to design a sound insurance plan while coordinating with account managers to provide risk-management and other value-added services.
The qualified candidate will demonstrate strong self-management skills, leadership qualities and the ability to communicate effectively. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Personal Lines Producers are required to write new business that meets or exceeds targets for premium volume, commission and number of accounts while adhering to agency service standards and timelines. Producers plan, lead and control their personal production levels and servicing in a manner consistent with agency goals for growth, mix of business and profitability.

As an Employee Benefits Account Executive, your priority will be on sharing your expertise on the technical aspects of health insurance and group benefit programs. You’ll expand sales in existing accounts by introducing additional products and services, and help bring in new business by working with producers on plan designs.
Proven expertise in health insurance products, the rules and legislation that regulate them, and the evolving factors that affect the healthcare industry and its consumers.
A demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues.
Experience analyzing group health, dental, life and disability quotes and presenting benefit-plan options. Experience with captive programs is an advantage.
Strong written and verbal communications skills are required, as is the ability to make informative and persuasive presentations.
You must be flexible yet decisive and place a high value on customer service.
Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
Through the sharing of health insurance expertise, the successful candidate will retain current accounts and collaborate with other agency Producers on generating new business.

As a Sylvia Group intern, you’ll work with the Director of Marketing and Communications to produce print and web content, applying what you’ve learned in the classroom while developing your skills, contributing to one of our region’s most respected insurance, benefits and financial services agencies, and earning a competitive wage.
As a Sylvia Group Marketing and Communications Intern, you’ll participate in the development and deployment of company marketing plans, producing print and online content including social media posts, e-newsletters, fliers, brochures and videos. You’ll also assist in the planning, preparation and production of our webinars and seminars in the Sylvia Group Education Series.
In addition to possessing strong verbal and written communications skills, the Marketing and Communications Intern will be proficient in the use of applications in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop. Experience using the HubSpot marketing platform is a plus, as are video recording and editing skills. Candidates must actively be pursuing an associate’s, bachelor’s or master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field.
