Employee Benefits Account Executive

If you’re a licensed health insurance professional who enjoys working as a key player on a well-supported team, Sylvia Group has an excellent opportunity for you. We’re seeking someone who has mastered the complicated details of health insurance – including voluntary and group health plans – and can manage existing accounts while consulting with colleagues on designing coverage programs for new clients.

What you’ll be doing

As an Employee Benefits Account Executive, your priority will be on sharing your expertise on the technical aspects of health insurance and group benefit programs. You’ll expand sales in existing accounts by introducing additional products and services, and help bring in new business by working with producers on plan designs.

In your tool kit

  • Proven expertise in health insurance products, the rules and legislation that regulate them, and the evolving factors that affect the healthcare industry and its consumers.
  • A demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Experience analyzing group health, dental, life and disability quotes and presenting benefit-plan options. Experience with captive programs is an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills are required, as is the ability to make informative and persuasive presentations.
  • You must be flexible yet decisive and place a high value on customer service.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.

High expectations

Through the sharing of health insurance expertise, the successful candidate will retain current accounts and collaborate with other agency Producers on generating new business.

Personal Lines Account Coordinator

We’re seeking a growth-minded, self-directed individual with at least 1-2 years of insurance experience to help our team develop coverage options and rate policies for our ever expanding client base. What you’ll be doing

As a Personal Lines Account Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be rating insurance programs for our clients as part of a highly trained and respected team of professionals. You’ll provide coverage and pricing comparisons, as well as options on coverage enhancements, to our Personal Lines Account Managers.

In your tool kit

  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ Personal Lines insurance experience
  • A demonstrated ability to work both in a self-directed and team setting
  • Ability to consistently deliver a high quality work product in a fast-paced environment

Marketing and Communications Intern

As a Sylvia Group intern, you’ll work with the Director of Marketing and Communications to produce print and web content, applying what you’ve learned in the classroom while developing your skills, contributing to one of our region’s most respected insurance, benefits and financial services agencies, and earning a competitive wage..

What you’ll be doing

As a Sylvia Group Marketing and Communications Intern, you’ll participate in the development and deployment of company marketing plans, producing print and online content including social media posts, e-newsletters, fliers, brochures and videos. You’ll also assist in the planning, preparation and production of our webinars and seminars in the Sylvia Group Education Series.

In your tool kit

In addition to possessing strong verbal and written communications skills, the Marketing and Communications Intern will be proficient in the use of applications in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop. Experience using the HubSpot marketing platform is a plus, as are video recording and editing skills. Candidates must actively be pursuing an associate’s, bachelor’s or master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field.

Interacting with staff throughout the agency, you’ll work independently under direction as you develop and publish content that will have a direct and positive effect on our company.
